Near Escape- God’s grace and mercy

There was this testimony that I wanted to share so much. It is about the matter of life and death for me and my three other friends who were in my car . We were all so excited about our trip to Hutan Lipur Sekayu in Terengganu, where we started our journey from Kuala Terengganu. It was approximately 2 hours drive from Kuala Terengganu. And I was the driver of the day. As we were talking and laughing away throughout our journey to and from Hutan Lipur Sekayu back to KT, we all didn’t know that disaster can be just a second away. And surely, It was by the grace and mercy of God that we, four are still alive today.

It was after the trip that I realized my car had a serious mechanical problem. The petrol oil was leaking. Not just leaking, but profusely leaking from the cable that is connected to the engine. What had happened was that for the past two weeks before the trip, I had got to know that my car smell petrol oil whenever I started the engine. And I was dumb enough to ignore it. I thought it was just because my car is old ,that’s why the smell of petrol was strong. And guess what, I was totally wrong.
What could have prevented four of us and other people who drove my car from the taste of the disaster is none other than the true provision and unconditional LOVE of that person, and He is none other than the person or God called JESUS CHRIST. He ordered that the mechanical problem of my car must be fixed immediately without any more delay. And, that is why I got into an accident. A planned accident by Jesus. The accident involved a lorry, which came from behind, and knocked behind my car. Then the lorry driver, who I thought might just sped off with his lorry like langgar lari , stopped his vehicle and told me that it was his fault (thank God . He is a nice guy ). Consequently, he was good enough to bring me to the nearest car shop and some more, he is the regular costumer of the shop. Wow… God really planned the accident properly and seriously. To add, at the moment of the accident, I asked God “Father, why is this happening ? What is the purpose of the accident? TELL ME….”

After repairing the damaged part of my car, it seemed that my car was back to a good shape, but the mechanic was a bit unsatisfied because my car smell petrol oil after I started the engine. Then, only now the true investigation kicked in. The mechanics asked me to open the bonnet, endeavouring to check for any mechanical problem. And guess what he found. The petrol oil was leaking profusely from the cable. Then, the mechanic slowly turned his face and stared at me with a stern and angry look.

He said “ How can you play around with this kind of thing? Do you know that your car would just explore anytime when you start driving?

Then, he continued to ask "Did you ever bring your car for service?” and I told him “ Yes, I did.”

He replied “Who was the one that checked your car? Is he a Chinese?”

I answered yes. At the next moment, he shook his head showing his disappointment toward the Chinese mechanic who previously serviced my car. Without further questioning, He straight away fixed the leaking cable for me. At the end, he reminded me again not to “play” with this kind of thing. It is not funny at all. It is about life and death.

After hearing that, I was rooted to the spot. I couldn’t believe what I had realized. Before I knew it, I nearly cried because at that moment, I knew why the accident took place. Jesus , in action, showed me how much He loves me and important am I to Him. Not to say, to other of my friends too who sat and drove my car before the accident... Jesus made the accident as an excuse for my car to be repaired before anything worst, which I couldn’t imagine, happens. He saved our lives. He kept to His promise when he said –

in Isaiah 41:10 “ So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed , for I am your God. I will strengthen and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand.”

In Titus 3:5 “ He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy…

AMEN… All Glory to the Father in Heaven

Love,
jonathan

  3. Hey friend,

Greetings in the Lord! I came across your blog through Facebook. I knew your sister, Kelly.

After reading your testimony, I am none but to praise Him for His wonderful work. Indeed God is merciful!

I had a near escape too years ago, all to His glory. My first car was a 5th hand vauxhall and was in such a bad condition that it produced strong petrol smell whenever I started the engine. Like you, I remember I ignored it like a big stupid kid. Long story short, I drove without an updated road tax and I was subjected to a hefty fine and the car had to be destroyed. I was furious then... But your testimony reminded me that all things happened for a purpose. I could have killed myself and my friends should I kept the car any longer.

Once again, we are saved by His grace. His love endures forever.

    Stay blessed,
    Michael
